Ben Carter: Making Money Skills Simple
Ben Carter is the person behind our course materials here at Purple Lemon Money Skills. As our Course Content Manager, he makes sure everything we teach is clear, useful, and easy for both teenagers and their parents to understand. He's the one who takes complicated money ideas and turns them into straightforward lessons you can use right away.
Before joining Purple Lemon, Ben spent years working in education. He saw first-hand how many young people and even adults felt lost when it came to managing their money. He strongly believes that understanding finance shouldn't be a secret only a few know. It should be a basic life skill for everyone. That belief is what brought him to us, wanting to make a real difference for families in places like Birmingham.
Ben's approach to creating content is all about being practical. He doesn't believe in long lectures or boring textbooks. Instead, he focuses on real-life situations: how to save for something important, how to make a budget that actually works, or how to avoid common money traps. He designs courses so you learn by doing, not just by listening.
He works hard to keep our materials fresh and relevant. This means looking at current financial trends, listening to feedback from our students, and always finding new ways to make learning about money interesting. Whether it's explaining credit scores or the best way to save for university, Ben makes sure the information is accurate and actionable.
Ben's goal is simple: he wants every person who comes through Purple Lemon to leave feeling more confident and ready to handle their finances. He's not just teaching facts; he's giving people the tools to make better choices for their future. He's proud to help build a generation in the UK that understands money better, starting right here in Birmingham.
